Monday Musings.

24 Oct

How was your weekend my lovelies? I hope you had lots of R&R time like me – I finally feel like I’ve caught up on all the sleep that I missed out on over the last month at school!

Just a few little updates for you today…

I still haven’t finished my pgce application, and quite frankly it is stressing me right out! I am having a nightmare getting the information I need about GCSE exam boards (the lady that I spoke too kept telling me how important it was to keep my certificates safe – she’s clearly never moved house!)

If you’ve been reading threetimesf for a long time you’ll know that before I started my job in Taunton, I used to attend a Slimming World group. Well, last week I went back for the fist time in 2 months to get weighed. To say I was dreading it would be an understatement – I have been eating, drinking and not running for the last half term, but I have only gained 1lb! Can I get a woop woop?! We’ve also made a little pact at school to hit the gym and healthy eating hard after the holidays, so hopefully I will soon be back on track.

I have a date to go and see fieworks and The Wurzels on Saturday night – how insane is that?!!

I am currently reading James Corden’s autobiography ‘May I have your attention please?’ – that man is hilarious. I highly recommend it.

Have a good day – don’t forget to be awesome!

Sophie.

ps – this is my 200th post – Craziness! Thanks for reading guys 🙂

Living The Not So Balanced Weigh.

27 Aug

When I first started blogging, it was mainly a way to keep track of my weight loss and share some support with readers. Obviously it’s now becoming way more than that, but weight loss is still a challenge for me.

I believe 100% in the Slimming World plan – I know it won’t work for everyone, but it works for me 🙂 Check out my story here.

Despite the fact that I know it works, and I desperately don’t want to get fat again, I have been struggling to stick to the plan lately. I gained 2.5lbs at weigh in this week – not as bad as it seems considering I haven’t been to group for about a month due to work etc, but still – it’s a sign that I need to get a grip on my diet again.

I had a scary realisation last night. I was watching a dvd with the fam in the evening and I popped in to the kitchen to make a drink. I also had 2 chocolate cookies – in the kitchen. on my own. in secret. It’s actions like these that made me overweight in the first place – my family could never understand how I gained so much weight when we were eating practically the same?

I’m terrified. I’m glad that I’m in a position where I was able to recognise what was happening (before I gained 7lbs!), but it’s still scary.

I have a big weekend planned with friends visiting, but as soon as I return to school on Tuesday I need to get back on the healthy living bandwagon. I hope that by declaring it to all you 3xf-ers, I’ll stick to my plans.

Do you have any bad habits like my secret eating that may have sabotaged your efforts in the first place? What do you do when you slip off the healthy path?

Sophie.

Back To Weigh-In.

4 Aug

Good afternoon my lovelies!

How are you all? It’s my day off today so I’m relaxing back at home with Mummy 🙂

I am going to take the plunge and face weigh-in this afternoon – it has been a few weeks and I have been eating a lot! I’m hoping that the increase in exercise will have counteracted my little ice cream habit!

Then, off for drinks with the girls 😀

What are your plans for the evening?

15 Jul

Hello lovely people!

I hope you’ve all had a great week 🙂 Done anything interesting? Tell me all about it!

Just a few updates from me this morning…

As you’ll know if you are a regular threetimesf-er, Thursday is the big weigh in day. I lost 1lb last week! Not bad considering the weekend that I had. Next week will be the last weigh in before I leave for Taunton and my new job, and I have 3.5lbs to go to my target weight so time to buckle down – veggies and exercise galore for me this week (after my weekend away that is…!)

I also realised I haven’t posted about the moving house situation for a while. You may remember a few weeks ago that we found ‘the perfect house’ – great location, a nice garden for Maisie, very well decorated, and ticked almost all of our boxes – and put in an offer.

Well, we’ve had to pull out. Well, we didn’t have to, but we have decided to. When the survey was carried out, it became apparant that there was a problem with the roof. Nobody could give us a direct answer to what exactly was wrong, or how much ££ and how difficult it would be to get repaired. We didn’t want to get involved in that 😦

So as it stands, our house is under offer and subject to contract. Looks like we will be moving in 6-8 weeks, but at the moment we have nowhere to go. To say that I am just a little stressed would be a major understatement at this stage! 😦

On a much happier note, I am going away for the weekend 🙂 Hockey Tour season is upon us – NWHC here I come!

(Note, this means I will be internet-less until Sunday, and probably half dead until next Wednesday (at least!) so please don’t expect too much!)

What are your plans for the weekend?

Finally, I am still looking for a few guests to write for me over the next few weeks. Check out the link here.

Have a good one 🙂

Sophie.

Big Things!

19 Jun

Hi everyone!

I’m really sorry for my silence over the past few days – Big things are a-happenning!

I start my new job in 5 weeks time, and am so not ready!

One of my best friends is having a bit of a tough time at the moment, so lots of tlc going on there.

We accepted an offer on our house yesterday, so now we need to find somewhere to live!

Ooooh and I have a new boy crush – lots of tummy butterflies going on! Aaaaahhh!

So yeah…what’s been going on with you guys? I need some normality back in my life!

Off for a run now – C25k week 5 here I come!! 😀 Talking of which, I’ve been avoiding writing about my weight loss for the past few weeks because I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster, but I lost 2lbs this week! Woop woop!

Big Love ❤

C25K Run 1(2), Weigh In and Portion Police!

Fitness!

I completed the second run yesterday, but was, for some reason, completely wiped out and didn’t blog at all!

I wasn’t really feeling like a workout, but you always feel better afterwards don’t you? As if a post workout glow wasn’t enough, I also felt proud of myself for going at all!

It was early evening, and there were lots of ‘real’ runners in the park – I was starting to feel pretty good about myself because to the outsider I looked like ‘one of them’!

This run was harder than the first – I was running against the wind a lot of the time, and the ground was a lot more uneven, but still manageable.

Food – Yesterday!

Had a lovely light lunch of Cucumber and Sweetcorn salad with Smoked Salmon.

Followed by some ice cream 🙂

I tried a new recipe for dinner – Cheesy Brocolli Bake! I think it is intended to be used as a side dish with some meat or such like, but I liked it so much that I just ate a whole plate of it!

Yummy!

Food – Today!

Dinner this evening was another new recipe – Leeks with Baked Eggs, served with a side salad.

It was AMAZING! I was expecting it to be a little bland, but the leeks and garlic added just the right amount of flavour.

A massive win Chez Sophie – We will definitely be trying it again!

Weigh in!

Well, Thursday is weigh-in day. Gained 1lb this week – the more I think about it, the more surprised and less disppointed I am. I did eat A LOT of rubbish over the weekend, and have struggled a little to get back on track.

Onwards and upwards! (Or hopefully in this case, downwards!)

In an extra effort to lose this week, I’m going to try and cut down my portion sizes. I eat well most of the time, but I eat A LOT! Apparantly it takes 15-20 minutes for your brain to start feeling ‘full’ so if you wolf your dinner down in less time then that, then like me, you’re probably eating more than you need too!

So first mission this week, is to buy some smaller plates!

How are all you C25K-ers getting on? Have you ever successfully cut your usual portion sizes?

6 May

Good Morning World!

Just a little update this morning to let you know what’s going on!

I lost 1.5lbs at weigh in last night! Completely chuffed because I didn’t have the best week food wise – so just need to keep it up now!

I came home and had a ‘naughty’ tea – Baked bean lasagne and jacket potato with some cucumber on the side. This is fine on the Slimming World plan (yes, really!) but it makes me feel like I’m having a massive treat!

Also, I am Cardiff bound for the weekend to see my favourite girlies, so probably won’t post again until Sunday now.

Have just finished downloading my first C25K playlist, so will be ready to go on Monday (I really am going this time!).

Have a good weekend! 😀

Sophie.
