Book Review: The Midwife’s Confession, By Diane Chamberlain.

9 Oct

I read The Midwife’s Confession whilst I was away in Europe this summer, and I absolutely devoured it.

The book tells the sad story of 2 best friend’s trying to discover why their friend Noelle (the midwife) committed suicide. I don’t want to go in to too much detail because it would be impossible without revealing some key spoilers, but every page was riveting.

I have never read any of Chamberlain’s work before, but it had been recommended to me as ‘great for anybody who enjoys Jodi Picoult’. I enjoyed the writing style – cleverly switching between characters and really enabling the reader to appreciate every character’s viewpoint.

And I definitely didn’t see the twist coming at the end!
