Getting A Sweat On.

2 Aug

Yesterday was a really good day.

It had been a pretty long night, with lots of drama in the boarding house, and not much sleep, so I had a nap (can you call it a nap at 8.30am?!!) after breakfast.

Then I got up and went running. It wasn’t good! I haven’t been keeping up-to-date with C25K lately because everything has been so hectic, and it showed. I thought I would go for week 5 (run 5mins, walk 3, run 5, walk 3, run 5) and it was really difficult. I wasn’t really feeling great and was lacking in energy – I must get back in to the swing of things again.

I made up for the lack of sweat in the afternoon though. I was rota-d to be teaching rounders in the afternoon, but only 3 girls signed up and I couldn’t really see how that was going to work (?!) so they went off to the fitness suite and I joined the boys for a spot of tag rugby – I have the war wounds to prove it!

Boy, it was hard! Very good fun though 🙂

I also tried my hand at laser clay shooting (like clay pigeon shooting) in the evening. Honestly, there is so much going on around here! I wasn’t great though, and my arm was shaking all eveneing because the guns were so HEAVY!! Need to work on my guns… (no pun intended).

Did you get a workout in yesterday?

Sophie.

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 22!

30 Jul

A picture of something you wish you were better at.

(Source)

(Note – I do not wish I was better at being a man.)

I am working on becoming a better runner/a runner full stop!

What do you wish you were better at? And how are you going about making that change?

Monday Walk & C25K.

4 Jul

Quiet workout day today – only an hour long evening stroll this evening. Fun, but not exacltly blood pumping. I feel a bit bad about skipping Jazzercise but the weather was too nice to stay inside.

Dinner:

Chilli & Chickpea Cake burgers, with some Pepper & Broc.

Big plans to start C25K week 5 in the morning. A little bit intimidated by the fact that week 5 workout 3 is 20minutes of straight running. Scared Face.

How has your day been?

Sophie.

Evening Stroll.

21 Jun

Is anybody else finding life a little stressful lately?! I have so much going on, but no real structure and not a lot of free time.

I was planning on starting C25K week 5 today (or a hybrid week 4/5 mix) today but just really didn’t have the energy. Instead I grabbed my friend Romin and we went for a stroll around the lake.

I think this worked out for the best really because I got my exercise fix in, as well as getting to talk things over.

I’ve done 16,500+ steps today – Woohoo!

How has your day been? Did you get a workout in?

Sophie.

ps – Big shout out to my friend Olly who passed his Pilot exams today, so can finally learn to fly! Woohoo!

Big Things!

19 Jun

Hi everyone!

I’m really sorry for my silence over the past few days – Big things are a-happenning!

I start my new job in 5 weeks time, and am so not ready!

One of my best friends is having a bit of a tough time at the moment, so lots of tlc going on there.

We accepted an offer on our house yesterday, so now we need to find somewhere to live!

Ooooh and I have a new boy crush – lots of tummy butterflies going on! Aaaaahhh!

So yeah…what’s been going on with you guys? I need some normality back in my life!

Off for a run now – C25k week 5 here I come!! 😀 Talking of which, I’ve been avoiding writing about my weight loss for the past few weeks because I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster, but I lost 2lbs this week! Woop woop!

Big Love ❤

Sense Of Achievement!

13 Jun

So may remember that on Saturday I just sat and ate!

Sunday was starting to take the same shape, until Maisie and I went out for a run.

I was not at all keen. It was raining. It was cold. I was tired. I’d eaten too much. I kept the excuses coming for a good few hours whilst I sat on the sofa watching The Biggest Loser searching for inspiration.

In the end I read over a post which I am planning for later this week on my motivation to lose weight and exercise in the first place.

Getting cold and wet for half an hour was totally worth it for the sense of achievement I felt what I was able to tick yesterday’s workout off my new plan!

I even completed 30DS level 1 when I got back – go me!

I have finally progressed on the week 4 of the C25K programme. Seriously, if you’d have asked me a month ago to go out running 3 times a week, and jog for 5 minutes straight, I’d have laughed in your face (this says a lot about my fitness levels and attitude!) – this programme is amazing, and I highly recommend it for those of you wishing to give running a go, but scared of the embarassment!

Coming up on threetimesf this week:

* On Motivation – My reasons for wanting to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle in the first place.

* On The One That Got Away – We’ve all got that person. Here’s my story filled with regret about the one that got away.

*30 Day Photo Challenge – A few more days coming your way!

Do come back!

Sophie.

Maisie Mumbles *1

12 Jun

Hello Sophie’s readers!

Maisie here 🙂

Woof!

Sophie showed me a doggy blog, so I decided to write a guest post of my own! (The bloggie world is too scary for me, so Sophie agreed to let me share threetimesf!)

We went out for a run today.

I was sat in the warm and dry minding my own business, when Sophie lured me outside with treats.

Look at how wet it was! Can you see all the scary water running down the road?!!

There were lots of puddles to splash in. Woof! The water makes me go a bit loopy!

I got really wet so when I got home Sophie rubbed me down with my towel.

This is my favourite part!

Now I’m off for a doggy afternoon nap. All that splashing around was hard work!
