This is such a bizarre thing to recall – I can’t remember learning how to spell any other words!
Anyway, I was about 8 years old, and I was off school for the day feeling sick. My Dad had stayed home to look after me, and we were chilling out together in the afternoon.
I don’t remember why but he obviously had something to do and needed to distract me for a while, so he sent me to get a pen and paper, and handed me a 50p piece with Queen Elizabeth engraved on it, and sent me away to learn how to spell Elizabeth!
I don’t really recall much else other than how excited I was to tell my Mum when she got home that evening of my new achievement! 🙂
