Chocolate and Raspberry Scan Bran Cake.

Firstly, for those of you that don’t know what Scan Bran is – it’s a cracker bread type thingy (technical term!) which is very high in fibre (30+) and is available from most good health food shops (definitely Holland and Barratt) or you can buy it at your Slimming World class. Essentially speeds up your digestive system, making you more ‘regular’ and therefore aids weightloss.

My friend Sam has lost 5 stone in a year with this stuff – In her words, ‘it’s the cake that makes you poo!’.

I have tried it a few times in the past, but can’t bear the taste/texture of it, so when I came across this recipe, I hoped it would be a little more successful – which it was! Woohoo!


  • 5x Scan Bran
  • 4x Tablespoon of sweetener
  • 150g Frozen mixed berries
  • 2x sachet Options Hot Chocolate
  • 3x Eggs


  • Break the Scan Bran up in to small pieces, and place in a silicone loaf tray (I think silicone works best because it is microwave suitable).

  • Soak the Scan Bran in a little hot water, to soften.
  • Meanwhile, beat 3 eggs, and add the sweetener.

  • Add 2x sachet of Options Hot Choolate to the egg mixture.
  • Measure 150g frozen rasperries, and add the the Scan Bran.

  • Pour the egg mixture over the top.

  • Cook in the microwave on a medium to high heat for 15 minutes.

  • Serve with a dollop of low fat natural or vanilla yoghurt.

Slimming World Lowdown!

You can have 5x Scan Bran as a healthy extra (B choice) on all plans, otherwise they are 1 syn each.

Options Sachets are 2 syns each.

So a grand total of 4 or 9 syns depending – Enjoy!

    Looks like a nice Recipe! I need to add more to my scan bran repertoire (currently experimenting a LOT of different cakes for the blog 😀 ) so will definitely try this one out!

      I really like adding the raspberries in because it somehow takes away the scan bran taste!!
