Friday Thoughts.

30 Sep

How’s your day been everyone?

Check me out posting twice in a day – that hasn’t happenned in a while?! I’m glad to be getting back in to the blogging swing though 🙂

I can’t believe how sunny it’s been today?! 26* in Taunton this afternoon, and supposed to be getting warmer tomorrow. That is mental!

I played table tenning for over an hour this evening. I think I’m getting a bit addicted to that game! I’ve been complimented on my skills twice in as many days, so all the time wasting is obviously paying off! Winner!

I have been working on my running at the gym (hate the dreadmill but it is too hot to run outside at the moment) and am starting to see my efforts pay off. I was bright red and literally dripping in sweat this morning – combine that with my sun burn from yesterday and a red t-shirt and you’ve got yourself a good look. I am so attractive sometimes!

Finally, I’ll share this with you for a Friday night… My blog got 2 hits today from people searching  ‘Job title underwear vegetable’. Seriously, what?!

What’s the weirdest search engine phrase that has ever referred someone to your blog?

Thought For Friday!

When faced with 2 choices simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you, but because for that brief moment when the coin is in the air, you suddenly know which option you are hoping for.

The A-Z Of Me!

29 Sep

I read Melissa’s post here, and decided to get involved. Unlike her I haven’t seen it posted everywhere (maybe I run in the wrong blogging circles?!!) but thought it would be fun to get to know you guys a little better 🙂 Plus, I always had a bit of a guilty pleasure for filling these things out when I was at uni and I’ve missed them!

A. Age: 22
B. Bed size: At school I have a tiny, tiny bed (Seriously, I think it’s smaller than single!) but at home I have just got my first double bed 😀
C. Chore that you hate: Washing dishes. I hate hate hate it – the way that your fingers get all wrinkly in the water!
D. Dogs: Maisie. My 6 year old black lab. If you are a regular reader you know how cute she is 🙂

Food & Fitness…That Is What The Blog’s Called After All!

27 Sep

Hey, check me out posting 2 days in a row?! Haven’t felt this in a while – maybe I’m starting to settle in to a routine?!

You may or may not have noticed (I was a little embarassed and hence didn’t draw attention to it on the blog..)  that once I started this new job I stopped posting about food and exercise (read: I was eating badly and sitting on my bum a lot of the time).

Well, I have been making a real effort to sort that out as of late.

Lots of salad and healthier (as healthy as they can be when you’re eating school dinners 24/7) choices appearing on my plate, and I have been making a real effort to get some regular workouts in.

Yesterday I played badminton and taught a Tag Rugby session (love that game!). Today I have been to the gym. Tomorrow I have a gym date. Things are finally starting to fall in to place and I am glad. Although I weighed myself at the weekend and I haven’t gained (or lost) and weight, I was starting to feel a little lethargic and tired.

Once the food and exercise is back on track, the next challenge would be to get a little more sleep!

How do you manage to fit your workouts in to a hectic schedule?

Chandaliers & Fire Places.

26 Sep

I feel like every time I post these days I seem to start by saying ‘Ah, I’m sorry I haven’t been here for a while’, and I really am but life is crazy.

I survived my massive 3 week stint at work! By the end I was pretty tired (one night last week I put hot chocolate powder in my tea instead of sugar…delirious much?!) and the weekend off was much welcomed!

I went ‘home’ this weekend to the new house. It was nice, but very very strange! I meant to snap some photos for you, but to be honest there are still so many boxes everywhere that I didn’t think the house would be done justice. For now, let’s just say that I think we will be very happy there, and also that my bedroom has a chandalier and working fireplace. Yes, you read that right – it’s amazing!!!

I’ll be back tomorrow for a real exercise and food update!

Life Wobbles & A Catch Up!

21 Sep

Hello my lovelies!

How are you all? So sorry I have been  a little MIA for a few days – I have been insanely busy but more importantly my internet has been playing right up 😦 This makes me very unhappy. I’ll tell you what makes it better though – I have the night off tonight so I can catch up on all my bloglovin’ action!

So, what to update you on?

On Sunday I had a few hours off so I went to Exeter to meet Mummy & Brother bear for lunch.

(Imagine a photo of us all here – wordpress is driving me mad 😦 )

I have been feeling a bit homesick as of late (which I think is weird cos I never felt that way at university) but I think this is because I have been pretty run down and exhausted because I’ve been working straight for so long.

Anyway, it was nice to see them, but it didn’t make me feel better. I am now very very excited about going home for the weekend. They’re all moved in to the new house now so I’ll be staying there – I think it’ll be wierd?!

I am also having a little bit of a life panic because the time is fast approaching when you have to apply for a teacher training place for next year. This is really stressing me out as I am not 100% sure that I want to teach, or if I do I am not certain about an age group or definite subject (I know what you’re thinking – it’s like I haven’t really considered the options at all, but really it is a case of overthinking!!) Ahem, anyway, I know that if I do nothing September 2012 will come and I will be kicking myself for not applying. Argh, anybody got any advice? Did you always know what you wanted to do? For the sake of the £20 fee, do you think I should apply anyway?

Anyway, on a much brighter note, my friend Beth is coming to visit me for lunch tomorrow. I am excited 😀

Happy Friday Everyone!

I

15 Sep

If you followed me on twitter you’d know that I am too tired to blog tonight.

However, I will just say that I did another hour in the gym today….and then smashed an Indian takeaway.

Back On The Bandwagon.

14 Sep

Back to the gym today. 20 mins on the bike, 10 mins on cross trainer, and 20 mins on the dreadmill. Throw in a few stretches and I’m feeling pretty well worked out! It’s been a while so I’m just hoping that I’ll still be feeling good tomorrow!

Life is good – school is busy but not too busy. I am getting my head down in a few projects, and getting to know a few of the kids much better. It surprises me that I can have a ‘real’ conversation with a 16 year old. I know it probably shouldn’t but I just haven’t been around anyone that age for such a long time…

My Mum and Bro are all safely moved in to the new place and are settling in well. Apparantly Maisie is even starting to come round to life as a city dog! They are coming to visit me on Sunday which is exciting – it’s only been a few weeks but I miss those guys!

Now I have a night of bloglovin’ and email catch up planned 😀

What good things are going on in your life right now? Did you get a workout in today?

Sophie.

Epic Fail.

14 Sep

Just woke up – apparantly I chucked my pint of drink all over the floor in the middle of the night, and now my room smells of Robinson’s Summer Fruits. Fail.
